The Colorado Division of Real Estate is requiring ALL licensed mortgage brokers to complete the following education (40 hours of course work) and pass the state's licensing exam no later than January 1, 2009 to avoid disciplinary action by the Division of Real Estate against their mortgage brokers license.
The required courses are:
Federal Mortgage Law
State Mortgage Law
Mortgage 101
Business and Trade Practices
CAUTION: Most testing facilities in the state offer the test only once or twice a week and have a limited amount of testing spots available. There are potentially 9,000 mortgage brokers that will need to test before the end of the year ... this could prove to be a challenge. Those who wait to the last minute may not be able to test in time to avoid potential disciplinary action. Don't let that happen to you. Start your course work today.
